5K Run/Walk
1st Ever Spring Valley 5K Fun Run/Walk on Thanksgiving Day Registration is now Open
5K Run/Walk
The Course:
Your adventure begins at the bridge crossing from Quarry Trail, just south of the Spring Valley Swap Meet. After a quick dash across the bridge, you’ll swing right and dive straight into the trail. The opening stretch is a little rugged and uneven—watch your step—before easing into a scenic cruise along a hidden creek.
As the path smooths out, you’ll find your rhythm, but stay alert—steep drop-offs into the creek keep things exciting. Around the half-mile mark, the course climbs briefly, then turns onto the Sweetwater Dam Service Road, where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of the Sweetwater Dam and Mount Miguel.
From there, it’s a fast, thrilling descent past the dam and beneath the towering pillars of Highway 125. The route then opens into a flat, tree-lined stretch beside the Bonita Golf Course, leading you to the turnaround point and aid station at the base of the Sweetwater Park Trail. Grab a sip, splash some water, and soak up the energy before the return trip.
The way back serves up all those views once more, before finishing strong with a lively bridge-crossing celebration. Blending challenge, beauty, and community spirit, this course is the perfect way to hit the trails, breathe the fresh air, and kick off Thanksgiving with heart and hustle!
