DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
Project types include the following:
1. Road Reconstruction/Reconfiguration/New Roads: Improvements include adding and/or modifying street lighting, lanes, turning lanes, roundabouts, or bike lanes to improve safety and/or increase roadway capacity.
2. Bridges Repair/Reconstruction: Improvements include adding and/or modifying street lighting, lanes, or bike lanes to improve safety and/or increase bridge capacity.
3. Sidewalk/Pathways/Pedestrian Access Ramps: Improvements include sidewalks, pathways, and ramps that promote safety and walking in the community.
4. Drainage: Improvements include corrections to storm drain problems on roadways or dip sections.
5. Traffic Signals: Installation of traffic signals to improve safety and traffic operation.
6. Intersections: Improvements could include new signals and turn lanes to improve safety and traffic operation.

#3 On Kenwood, going west from Helix Street to Kenwood Court, needs sidewalks on the SOUTH side of the street; 1,486 feet. (2021 #4)
#4 From under the SR 94 bridge, going north on South Barcelona Street to Highlands Elementary, sidewalks missing in places; 1,682 feet. (2021 #5)
#5 On Jamacha Road from Osage Street to Elkelton Blvd going west or east. The South side of the street needs sidewalks; 4,052 feet. (2021 #7)
#6 La Presa Avenue, on one side of the street need sidewalks from Apple Street to the school; 4,988 feet. (2021 #6)
#7 Finish Apple Street from La Presa to Galopago
#8 Sidewalks on Memory Lane North Side from Bancroft to National Historic Landmark
#9 Sweetwater Road, heading north from Tyler Street to Troy Street, need sidewalk for 1,758 feet (2021 #1)
#10 Troy Street, From Sweetwater Road going east to Bancroft Drive, needs sidewalks on NORTH side of the street; 4634 feet. (2021 #2)

2022-09-20 :: The new section of sidewalk on Birch Street located between Sweetwater Lane and Presioca Street has now been completed. This improvement enhances pedestrian access and is ADA compliant, easing accessibility to the Sweetwater Lane Community Park for all.
2024-10-10 :: The new section of sidewalk on Apple Street located between Grand Ave and Ramona Ave. has now been completed. This improvement enhances pedestrian access and is ADA compliant.
Apple Street Sidewalk Improvements Project
• The project proposes approximately 500ft of curb, gutter, and sidewalk on the south side of Apple Street between Grand Ave and Ramona Ave. Project will also include ADA compliant curb ramps at the intersections.
